Built to designs of Henry Greenly, as 1, 2 and 3 but with an additional inside cylinder. July 1937 inside cyl. motion failed whilst in service, towed back to New Romney where wrecked motion removed and cyl. blanked off. 1938 received a blue livery and renamed BLUEBOTTLE, to run a new named train 'The Blue Train'. Used by army during WW2. 1947 rebuilt at Ashford Works, name reverted to HURRICANE. 1956 new boiler. 1972-73 rebuilt and redundant inside cyl. removed altogether. Mid 1970's rebuilt by Cushing Engineering, Rainham, Kent.
Built to designs of Henry Geenly, as 1; 2 and 3, but with a third inside cylinder. 1935-36 this cyl. disconnected and blanked off. used by army from time to time during WW2. 1946 rebuilt at Ashford Works, who supplied new larger tender later in year. 1958 new boiler. Mid 1970's rebuilt by Cushing Engineering, Rainham. Kent, redundant cyl. removed altogether.
Built to designes of Henry Greenly, ordered by J.E.P.Howey early 1926, 1947 rebuilt at New Romney, with new larger tender built at Ashford Works. 1957 rebuilt at New Romney by A.R.W.Crowhurst with new boiler by Gower. 1984 rebuilt by T.M.A.Engineering, Birmingham.
Ordered by Count Louis Zborowski, worked stopped when he was killed in a motor racing accident 10.1924. Order taken over by J.E.P.Howey for hir R.H.& D.R. Major overhaul/rebuilds. 1946-7 at S.R. works Ashford, Kent; 1960 ; 1982 at T.M.A.Engineering, Birmingham; 2008 Crowhurst Engineering, Hythe, Kent.
