The line here first opened in 2005 and was as a built as a children’s coin-in-slot 'self-drive', provided by Parkside Railways. Since early 2012, attention has focused on developing the railway atmosphere and extending the running line. A relocated McAlpine container has become a workshop and some timber combined with an ex LNER ‘BZ's’ roof hoops form the basis of an overall roof for the main station (now known as ‘Woodside’). Trains run for 250 yards from Hambleton Station, through Woodside Station, to 'King George V’ station and then return. Further extensions and developments are planned. Trains sometimes terminate at Woodside station.
